It is applied directly to the interior face of your existing glass, bonding to it to form a single reinforced assembly. It is substantially thicker and stronger than ordinary “security film,” and unlike off-the-shelf products it is independently tested to recognized ballistic and forced-entry standards.

Across the product line, Clear-Armor defends against forced entry and smash-and-grab, sustained physical assault, bomb-blast pressure, severe weather and windborne debris, and ballistic threats. The bullet-resistant tier is tested to NIJ 0108.01 Type II-A, 9mm (Intertek N2350.01-119-12 R0, 2022). Custom builds are available for higher-caliber and rifle-level threats.

SL-15, a 15-mil entry-protection laminate (420 psi break strength) that defeats forced entry, smash-and-grab, blast pressure, and high winds. SL-31 Riot, a 31-mil laminate (1,100 psi) built for prolonged attacks, riots, and active-threat scenarios. BR Bullet-Resistant, our highest tier (1,500+ psi), tested to NIJ 0108.01 Type II-A, 9mm, while allowing defensive fire outward. Opaque ballistic boards extend protection to walls, doors, and partitions at NIJ Levels II–IV.

No. Clear-Armor is optically clear at 87% visible light transmission with zero distortion. There is no yellowing or hazing over the life of the installation, and it rejects 99% of UV. From any viewing angle, interior or exterior, the glass looks like untreated glass, so your daylighting, views, and design intent are fully preserved.

Yes. The laminate applies to the existing glazing without altering frames, hardware, or operation. Windows and doors open, close, and lock exactly as they did before.

No. Because Clear-Armor is a laminate applied to existing glass, not a structural modification or glass replacement, a building permit is not required in most jurisdictions, though your local building authority should confirm. That means no waiting periods, no city approvals, and no contractor coordination, so your facility stays fully operational throughout installation.

Yes, retrofit is the core of the system. The laminate bonds to your current glass, which makes it a far more cost-effective security upgrade than replacing windows or adding framed polycarbonate overlays. No glass removal, no frame work, no envelope changes.

Installation is performed by Clear-Armor’s certified installers, who apply the laminate directly to your glass. Victus Defense specifies and supplies the product; we do not install it.

Disruption is minimal, the facility stays open and operating. And because the work isn’t bound by permitting and construction schedules, on-the-spot change orders are possible: if a new entry point needs addressing mid-project, our crews handle it without restarting permitting or scheduling. Minimal. Routine cleaning with a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner keeps the laminate performing and looking its best. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents that could scratch the surface.

It can. Removal should be handled by trained technicians to avoid damaging the underlying glass. Once removed, the laminate cannot be re-applied, a new laminate would be installed if protection is needed again.

The bullet-resistant tier is tested to NIJ 0108.01 Type II-A, 9mm — Intertek N2350.01-119-12 R0, 2022. The line is also tested to ASTM F3561 Level 6 (Intertek T5624.01-119-12 R0, 3/4/26) and ASTM F1233 Class 1.2 and 1.3 (Intertek T5621.01-119-12 R0, 3/6/26), and meets glazing and fire-code standards including ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16 CFR and ASTM E84. “Bullet-resistant” is the accurate technical term, no glazing is truly bullet-resistant. Bullet-resistant products are tested to resist specific ammunition types and shot patterns under defined standards such as NIJ 0108.01. Clear-Armor’s BR tier is tested to Type II-A, 9mm.

Clear-Armor carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty on materials, installation, and workmanship for as long as the laminate is properly maintained. It is not a fixed-term warranty, it covers the product for the life of the installation.

Yes. Clear-Armor is tested to ASTM F3561 at Level 6 — Intertek T5624.01-119-12 R0, tested 3/4/26, covering SL-15, SL-31 and BR. F3561 is a forced-entry standard that tests a complete window assembly: the glass, the frame, the anchoring and the hardware together as one unit. That matters when you read a rating, because the level belongs to the assembly it was earned on. Our Level 6 result was earned on a 48.5 x 66.5 inch fixed window assembly, and we do not claim it transfers to a different opening. If a vendor gives you an F3561 level without telling you the glass thickness, opening size and framing behind it, ask for the full report before you compare it to anything.
